2023 HMI Back-to-School Summit is Huge Success

On Saturday, September 16, we held our Back-To-School Summit offering a full day of engagement and connection for LGBTQIA+ youth. The event kicked off with an inspiring opening plenary by special guest speaker, DaQuane Cherry, setting the tone for a day filled with empowerment, learning and camaraderie.

This day-long event was tailored for LGBTQIA+ students and provided insightful workshops led by HMI staff members, giveaways, and social spaces for connecting. Participants enjoyed breakfast and lunch, including a special meal prepared by HMI’s Chef Geraldo, making it a day of learning, community, and delicious food.

We would like to express our sincere appreciation to the student attendees, parents, Robyn Banks, DaQuane Cherry, our HMI staff, and Chef Geraldo for the scrumptious lunch.
