HMI’s Pantry is open from 4-7pm. Laundry Services are available from 4-5pm.
1) Laundry Services are First Come-First Serve.
2) Laundry facilities are available Monday-Thursday and must be brought in by 5pm SHARP!
3) All HMI Members Must make a laundry appointment prior to bringing clothes.
4) Only 1 youth laundry appointment per day

WATCH ‘COMMUNITIES OF RESISTANCE’
London’s Young Vic Theatre is coming to NYC and they are bringing the best and brightest of the UK ballroom scene to Hetrick-Martin Institute to meet up with a hand-chosen team of NYC Ballroom talent! Together they will explore the birthplace of Ballroom, experience 🏳🌈NYC Pride 2022 and blend their talents and experiences! This amazing collection of international young artist will create a scratch performance around the theme of Communities of Resistance. Five of our talented Ballroom artists Nekia Zulu, Antics Prodigy, Kai, and Silk Telfar 007 talk about their experiences in Ballroom, and what “Communities of Resistance,” means to them. Come watch our hand selected artists perform with UK ballroom talent from the Young Vic Theatre in a mash up of theatre, drama and Ballroom! July 6th, 5pm at 3 Astor Place, 3rd Floor. (Open Art Studio will not be held on July 25th.) HMI’s Open Art Studio offers a variety of materials for your free creative expression, including (but not limited to) watercolor and acrylic paints, oil and chalk pastels, pencils, pen and ink, collage materials, fiber arts, printmaking materials, sculpture materials (plaster, clay, model magic, found objects), paper crafts, glitter, and more.
Using materials to express yourself through art can reduce stress, increase self-awareness, foster growth of hands-on skills, improve communication abilities, and boost self-esteem too!
Hosted by Leesa Tabrizi Mondays 4-6pm in the art space.

HMI’S ‘GET PSYCHED’ is back and will run on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of the month at 4pm. The group is focused on psychoeducation. “Get Psyched” provides a safe/brave space to ask questions about mental health and psychology. Email Mako at jmontalvo@hmi.org for more info.

Age-Out Arrangements is an open group for youth members of all ages who are moving through their unique stages of aging out at HMI. It will be in person at HMI (and on Zoom) every Wednesday at 6PM-7PM. This is a space for youth members to gather in community, process thoughts and feelings on aging out, and imagine the future through creative expression – with space to share and discuss with peers.
