You Are Not Alone: Dealing with Abandonment and Rejection
When we face rejection from loved ones because of who we are, it can create within us a feeling of abandonment. Coping with these feelings in a healthy way is important for the future development of ourselves and our community.
The Youth Summit is an opportunity to learn how to express feelings of abandonment and rejection through music, dialogue, and movement. Together we will experience positive growth by exploring our identities and by learning how to present our true selves confidently. As Chris Colfer, star of Glee, once said, always remember that “there is nothing wrong with you. There’s a lot wrong with the world you live in,” but change is possible, and it starts today at Youth Summit 2018.
