Our annual awards ceremony has proven to build confidence among our queer and trans youth and increase their self-esteem as they prepare to enter the real world. HMI hosts its annual award ceremony named in honor of our co-founder, Dr. Damien Martin. Awards are presented to youth members based on peer-to-peer nominations by fellow youth. Categories include Community Activism, Self-Improvement, Artistic Excellence, and more. The awards ceremony was designed to recognize our young people for their dedication to the betterment of HMI and the community.
