HMI SENIOR DIRECTOR OF YOUTH DEVELOPMENT, LAZARA PAZ-GONZALEZ RECOGNIZED ON WORLD AIDS DAY BY NYC DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH
Earlier today on December 1, 2023, World AIDS Day, HMI Senior Director of Youth Development, Lazara Paz-Gonzalez, was recognized by the NYC Department of Health for her important contribution to ending the HIV epidemic in New York City.
Bridget Hughes, HMI Chief Program Officer, expressed, “Lazara serves as an exceptional leader and role model for all of us. Her dedication to the well-being of individuals and ensuring community access to care has always been genuine and heartfelt, creative and purposeful. She has been a true inspiration in this field!”

The theme for this year’s event was, “What does World AIDS Day mean to younger generations?” The event featured a panel discussion with young people sharing their experiences around HIV and the importance of World AIDS Day to them.
