HMI NEWS UPDATE
APPOINTMENT OF AMY HARCLERODE AS CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER AND SUCCESSFUL EMERY AWARDS ACHIEVEMENT
It is with great pleasure that we officially announce the appointment of Amy Harclerode as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Hetrick-Martin Institute (HMI), effective immediately.
During her tenure as HMI’s first Chief Development Officer since 2017, Amy played a pivotal role in the remarkable growth of the organization’s revenue. This growth has been instrumental in supporting youth programming and advocacy and capacity building initiatives. In April of 2023, Amy assumed the role of Interim CEO, and under her direction, HMI has continued to expand and innovate in response to the mental health crisis affecting queer and trans youth of color.
Amy’s experience, institutional knowledge, exemplary leadership skills, and profound connection to our community make her exceptionally well-suited to serve as HMI’s next CEO. In her capacity as interim CEO, Amy has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to the mission and vision of HMI, steering the organization with a combination of passion and strategic acumen.
As Amy assumes the role of CEO, we are confident that her vision, leadership, and deep-rooted connection to HMI’s mission will propel the organization to new heights. We extend our heartfelt congratulations to Amy and express our gratitude for her continued dedication to the Hetrick-Martin Institute. Please join us in congratulating Amy Harclerode on her well-deserved appointment as Chief Executive Officer.
We are also delighted to share the tremendous success of this year’s Emery Awards held last night at Mercedes-Benz Manhattan. We hit our goal—an accomplishment that wouldn’t have been possible without the generous support of our sponsors, donors, attendees, event co-chairs, host committee, fellow board members, leadership, staff, and volunteers.
Your collective support is the driving force behind our ability to provide critical assistance to LGBTQIA+ youth, particularly during a time of heightened demand for accessible, cost-free resources and comprehensive services addressing the mental health crisis. This need has surged to an all-time high in response to the alarming increase in anti-queer and trans legislation across our nation.
Once again, thank you for your invaluable support, which empowers us to make a meaningful impact on the lives of LGBTQIA+ youth and the broader community.
With respect, gratitude, and excitement,
Dom DiPasquale & Josh Saterman
