Celebrate Your Special Day By Supporting LGBTQIA+ Youth.

In 1979, when Emery Hetrick and Damien Martin founded what would become the Hetrick-Martin Institute, they worked day and night to provide LGBTQIA+ youth with the essentials for survival. While many battles for LGBTQIA+ equality have been won and lost since that time, one of the most significant milestones for this generation has been the achievement of marriage equality.

Through HMI DO, couples can invite their family and friends to support the LGBTQIA+ young people of HMI in lieu of traditional wedding gifts or in honor of their marriage. Your celebration helps nurture, empower, and uplift the next generation of LGBTQIA+ adults as they work toward reaching their full potential.

Family and friends can make an online donation in honor of the couple and will receive an electronic acknowledgment letter. The couple will be notified of each gift as it is received, along with a final report listing all donations made in their honor.

$50 Gift

Can provide a month of free group counseling sessions for LGBTQIA+ youth with certified mental health professionals.

$150 Gift

Can provide 10 young people an HMI Homeless Support Kit with toiletries, clean undergarments, non-perishable snacks and a safe sex kit which includes condoms, HIV/STI prevention literature and testing information for young people living on the streets.

$200 Gift

Can provide a young person inclusion in the HMI Job Readiness Program for a complete cycle (12 weeks) where HMI youth participate in resume writing workshops, mock interviews and professional skill development.

$300 Gift

Can provide a year’s worth of free meals to HMI youth. For many, the hot nutritious meal they receive in Café HMI is the only meal they receive all day.

A donation to HMI not only supports our important work to create safe and supportive environments for LGBTQIA+ youth, it also sends a clear and strong message to the young people of HMI that they are loved and valued.
