As LGBTQIA+ leaders and thought partners, HMI’s Training and Capacity Building (T-CAP) team is committed to strengthening individuals, organizations, and communities across New York. Through comprehensive learning initiatives, we help foster environments that celebrate diversity, advance equity, and build lasting support for LGBTQIA+ individuals—especially those from underserved and marginalized communities.

Our Work:
Interactive Trainings: We offer research-informed, interactive sessions that share best practices and proven program models for supporting LGBTQIA+ youth. These trainings are designed for youth and adults, including youth service providers and parents.
Customized Solutions: Through tailored trainings, technical assistance, and organizational assessments, we equip participants with actionable strategies while uplifting LGBTQIA+ youth voices to drive meaningful change in systems and policies.
Building Capacity: By promoting safer training spaces and fostering expansive understandings of gender identity and sexuality, HMI empowers professionals across disciplines to replicate, scale, and sustain effective models—ensuring accessible, affirming services for all LGBTQIA+ youth.

CEU Provider Information
Hetrick-Martin Institute, 2 Astor Place, New York, NY 10003, is an approved provider with the New York State Education Department’s Board for Social Work of continuing education for NY Licensed Social Workers #SW-0668, and the New York State Education Department’s State Board for Mental Health Practitioners as an approved provider of continuing education for Licensed Creative Arts Therapists #CAT-0104.
