LGBTQ Youth Care-Planning Assistance Program
If you are interested in referring a young person to HMI, we can support you in multiple ways through our Care-Planning Assistance Program.
What we can do:
- HMI Counselors will come and meet you and the young person at your location
- HMI Counselors can complete the full HMI intake and screening process at your location
- Provide Staff with Clinical Consults and Coaching around LGBTQ issues
- Help identify LGBTQ-specific referrals and resources
- Assist with safety planning for LGBTQ youth and families
- HMI Counselors can escort youth to HMI

Consultation with an HMI Expert Counselor
Our expert counseling staff is available to assist youth service providers and clinical staff at other agencies and schools who are looking for clinical consults and coaching around providing appropriate care for LGBTQ youth, intervening to assure safety, accessing appropriate referrals, and navigating systems. HMI has over 35 years of experience advocating for and supporting LGBTQ youth and their mental health. We are here to help!

Trainings for Youth Service Providers
Through The Center for LGBTQ Youth Advocacy and Capacity Building, HMI offers trainings in building inclusive environments. HMI is dedicated to sharing best practices for working with LGBTQ youth to increase the capacity of organizations to meet the specific needs of LGBTQ youth nationally and globally.
HMI offers trainings about Best Practices for working with LGBTQ adolescents, youth and their families, and homeless and/or marginally housed youth.
