SUMMARY:Moving Toward Belonging - Part 1
DESCRIPTION:A facilitated Zoom panel discussion between HMI staff members and HR professionals exploring the complexities that LGBTQIA+ young people face when entering the workplace. Through this experience organizations can learn valuable tools and insights to support recruiting\, onboarding and in boarding\, creating inclusive environments\, and strong retention strategies to create a diverse pipeline.  \n\n\n\nAccording to Gallup\, The percentage of U.S. adults who self-identify as lesbian\, gay\, bisexual\, transgender or something other than heterosexual has increased to a new high of 7.1%\, which is double the percentage from 2012\, when Gallup first measured it. In 2019\, the LGBTQIA+ population represented almost $3.7 trillion in market share buying power. \n\n\n\nThese statistics inform organizations that having a strong workforce where LGBTQIA+ employees are represented and feel safe allows the organization to be a true reflection of the marketplace they serve. How will you connect more deeply with your workforce and workplace to also connect more deeply with your marketplace?

SUMMARY:Moving Toward Belonging - Part 2
DESCRIPTION:We learn about ourselves and enhance our organizations through listening to other people’s stories. Join us for this Fireside Chat to hear from a parent and child and how their journey impacts organizations\, workforce communities\, communities at-large\, and loved ones.  \n\n\n\nOrganizations know that supporting their employees is the way to create safe spaces and environments where employees can bring their full authentic selves to work. The LGBQ and TGNC journey is unique. Non-conforming identities within this community are sometimes visible and other times invisible. This Fireside Chat will allow you to hear the stories\, experience the transitions that happen within the workplace\, and determine ways to enhance your ability to connect with this community. How will your organization learn from your employees’ stories?
